Cords is a voice-first social network. Posts are short voice notes with automatic transcripts, organized into topics and communities, with real-time feed ranking and push notifications.
Problem
Text-first feeds flatten tone and nuance, and typing out a real thought is a barrier a lot of people never cross.
Approach
We built a feed around short voice recordings with automatic transcripts, organized by topic and community, on Next.js and Supabase with Cloudflare R2 for media storage. It installs like a native app through PWA support, with push notifications and embeddable widgets for external sites.
Outcome
Cords is live at cords.social with a working feed, communities, and push notifications, and remains in active, ongoing development.
